Reports indicate that the bullet struck his side while he was providing assistance to the injured during the protests. According to informed sources, he lost his life due to severe bleeding; this occurred while security forces were preventing the transfer of the injured to the hospital by instilling fear and terror. Mohsen Rashidi Khani Abadi was the father of a 4-year-old girl and a stepfather to two teenage girls, whom he had been caring for since they were three years old. His body was identified on January 23, 2025, after four days of searching by his family in detention centers and morgues, at the morgue of Baghe Rezvan in Isfahan, and on January 24, 2025, he was buried under restrictions imposed by security forces. According to a source close to the family, before the body was handed over, officials had requested that the cause of death be declared as "being a Basij member," which was met with opposition from Mohsen's wife and mother. According to statements from individuals close to the family, Mohsen Rashidi Khani Abadi was active in the real estate and construction sector and had participated in the protests to resonate with the people and demand justice and freedom. According to this source, before leaving the house, he had told his wife and mother that this might be the last meeting.
