Mostafa Safian

According to IranWire, Mostafa Safian, 40 years old, was shot and killed by Islamic Republic forces on Thursday, January 8, 2026, during protests in Shahreza County, Isfahan Province. Mostafa Safian was single. He owned a Nissan pickup truck and worked in transportation. Islamic Republic forces shot him with two shotgun pellets from the front and also struck him with live ammunition from behind. Mostafa was transferred to Amir al-Momenin Hospital in Shahreza, but his injured body could not withstand the wounds, and he succumbed to his injuries. Mostafa's family approached various authorities for several days. They were informed that a 'Basij' card would be issued for Mostafa Safian. The family refused. A close relative of Mostafa Safian told IranWire: 'His body had been taken to Bagh-e Rezvan, Isfahan. Several family members went there and identified his body. However, they were told, "Return to Shahreza; perhaps we will bring the body there at 5 AM, or perhaps not."' On Tuesday afternoon, January 13, 2026, Islamic Republic forces contacted Mostafa Safian's family and instructed them to attend the funeral with a maximum of 10 family members. According to IranWire, Amirreza's family was compelled to sign an undertaking stating they had no right to hold ceremonies, post announcements, or display banners in their place of residence: 'They even said if we put a photo on a car, they would smash the car.' Mostafa Safian's body was buried silently, without any ceremony.
