
Mohammad Haghighi-Asl
According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mohammad Haghighi-Asl, a 21-year-old citizen from Mashhad residing in Ramsar, Mazandaran Province, was killed by direct fire from government forces and a war bullet during popular protests in the city. According to information received, Mohammad Haghighi was a construction worker and the sole breadwinner for a family of four, working in Ramsar. Security forces pressured his family and handed over his body only on the condition that they declare him a martyr and a Basiji member. The death certificate stated the cause of death as 'internal bleeding and its complications, rupture of internal organs of the chest, and impact of a high-velocity hard object'.
