Rozita Rokhzadeh
Rozita Rokhzadeh (1993–2026), a 33-year-old mechanical engineer and auto mechanic, was killed by security forces on January 8, 2026, in the Aryashahr district of Tehran. Known for sharing videos of her professional expertise on Instagram, Rozita was a symbol of courage and defiance against gender stereotypes. She was a vocal critic of the regime, once famously comparing the 1979 revolutionaries to those who "burned a Mercedes-Benz just to ride a Quick on installments." In her final haunting video, she reflected on her generation's struggle, saying, "What a waste of us—we were hardworking, bold, hopeful, and beautiful. What a waste of our youth that fell into their hands." Her life and career were cut short as she stood for the liberation of her people.
