
Mahan Sadeghi
Mahan Sadeghi, 20 years old, from Tehran and a resident of Narmak neighborhood, was shot by a sniper on 9 January 2026 in the Haft Hoz Square area and lost his life. According to an informed source speaking to IranWire, the shooting was carried out from the top of the Haft Hoz Square mosque. The source says that Mahan Sadeghi had recently turned 20 on 24 November 2025. Due to economic problems, he was unable to continue his education and worked from a young age to provide for his family's living expenses. The source adds that Mahan had no father since childhood and was the breadwinner of the family. He first worked as a worker in a turning company and then worked with a motorcycle. According to relatives, he sometimes worked as a motorcycle courier and sometimes in Snapp. According to this informed source, on the morning of the day after the shooting, Mahan Sadeghi's mobile phone and jacket were found near Sar Sabz crossroads. Three days later, his family was informed that his body had been transferred to Kahrizak. The source says that the family was asked to pay a sum of money and also asked them to introduce Mahan as a "Basiji", but the family refused these requests. The source also adds that in the end, Mahan Sadeghi's body was buried in Imamzadeh Taleb, at the end of Imam Reza Road, and the family was told that the funeral should be held "quietly". According to relatives, Mahan Sadeghi was a popular, cheerful and well-mannered young man, and those around him remember him as a person with character and knowledge. His family and friends say that his memory is still alive in their hearts.
