Atefeh Abed

Atefeh Abed, 23 years old, was shot in the head and killed by the direct fire of the Islamic Republic's armed forces on Friday, 9 January 2026, during protests in Meraj Square, Mashhad. She had a bachelor's degree in law and wanted to take the bar exam next year. Atefeh Abed was newly married and was killed in front of her parents' eyes. Her body was collected from Behesht-e-Rezvān in Mashhad on Monday, 12 January. Atefeh Abed's body was buried on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, in the cemetery of Ahmadabad village in Chenaran, which is her family's birthplace.
