
Akbar Hamzeh-Hosseini
Akbar Hamzeh-Hosseini, born in 1996 and from Kuhdasht, Lorestan province, was killed on January 9, 2025, during protests at the Fardis Water Supply Intersection. According to published information, he had previously been arrested during the protests of 2022 along with his brother and was sentenced to one year in prison. Four months after his release from prison, his brother, Morteza, was arrested again on charges of activity on social media. At the time of Akbar Hamzeh-Hosseini's death, Morteza was in prison. A video obtained by BBC Persian shows the moment Morteza, having been granted leave from prison, returns for the first time after Akbar's death.
