The charge attributed to this Yarsani citizen is "Corruption on Earth through espionage in favor of Israel"; a charge that has been associated with heavy sentences in some security cases in recent years. His hearing session was held via video conference; a matter that has always been a topic of discussion regarding the quality of proceedings and the possibility of effective defense for the accused, especially in cases with capital punishment. Yaqoob Karimpoor was arrested by security forces in Miandoab in June 2025 and transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Department detention center for interrogation. According to an informed source, he was under security pressures for about two months to obtain forced confessions regarding cooperation with Israel. Meanwhile, according to HRANA, he was deprived of the right to access a lawyer from the time of his arrest until the case was sent to the Revolutionary Court and was not allowed to meet with his family during detention.
